Server Edition has the following features:
* Centralized Installation: Install SE on a Windows server, and any user can install by connecting to a shared printer. Admin access to the workstation is not required with SE.
* Centralized Updates: When a new version of SE is installed on the server, client users are automatically updated to the new version.
* Network Client Support: SE supports clients running Windows Vista, XP and 2000 including laptops and Terminal Server/Citrix clients.
* Shared configuration: Common settings can be placed on the server for propagation to workstations. For example, PDF security parameters or letterheads saved on the server will be copied to workstations or thin clients.
* License management: SE ensures license compliance and allows monitoring and control of license usage on a single server or a group of connected servers.
Windows Terminal Server/Citrix Support
Server Edition products fully support Windows Terminal Server and Citrix Metaframe environments. Our products support full desktop sessions as well as single application, published application, and seamless application sessions. No special setup is required.
Server Installation
System Requirements: Windows 2000, XP, 2003 Server, 2008 Server.
To install Server Edition on a server:
Download the self-extracting archive, which can be done from this page, above.
Open the self-extracting archive.
The installer will automatically install the printer drivers for Windows Vista, XP and 2000 on the server and create a shared printer that clients can access. The installation process also installs the full product for use on the server itself.
Client Installation
System Requirements: Windows Vista, XP, 2000.
Client installation using SE requires connecting to the shared network printer, installed as above on the server. Client connection to the shared printer can be done via Network Neighborhood or the Add Printer Wizard in the Printers folder.
